Twelve small moments, one letter at year's end.

Once a month, three short questions about your child by email. Reply in 90 seconds from your phone. On their next birthday, your year of small observations becomes a print-ready letter in your own voice — quoting them word-for-word.

$36 per child per year. One Stripe Checkout, prepaid annual.

From the sample — Year 4, a letter to Theo, age 4

You told the cashier at Trader Joe's that you were "a pretend pirate but a real boy." She gave you a sticker. You also started saying "wow wow wow" every time we opened something — not "whoa whoa whoa." The Ws were important. You poured your own cereal without spilling. The bowl was right at the edge of the counter but you held it with two hands.

You tried to convince me that your stuffed dinosaur Greg had a job. "Greg works at the office, mama." You also started saying "I'm thinking about it" before answering any question. You buttoned your own pajamas this month — just the top one, but it took you 10 minutes and you wouldn't accept help.

I found you in the bathroom "shaving" with a tongue depressor and a cup of water. Your face was very serious. You started calling your sister Mira "my best baby." She is technically your only baby. You meant it as the highest praise. You drew the letter T on your own. Crooked but recognisable. I hung it on the fridge.

How it works

Three questions, once a month, by email

On the day you choose each month, you get an email with three short prompts about your child: something that made you laugh, a phrase you don't want to forget, something they did that they couldn't before. Reply from your phone in 90 seconds — one or two sentences each is plenty.

Your words become the letter

On your child's birthday, your twelve months of replies are compiled into a single warm, specific letter in your own voice — quoting your child's actual words verbatim. You get a print-ready PDF and a private hosted page. Print it, read it, share it.

Built to last fifteen years

Year after year, the same cadence: twelve small moments, one annual letter. A 15-year subscription becomes a 15-volume archive your child can read when they're older. No app, no dashboard, no willpower required.

FAQ

How does it work exactly?

After signup, you tell us your child's name, birthday, time zone, and which day of the month you'd like the prompts. Each month on that day we email you three questions. You reply with one to three short sentences per question. On your child's next birthday, we compile your twelve months of replies into a designed, ~700-900 word letter and email you a print-ready PDF plus a private hosted page.

Will the letter sound like me, or like an AI?

It sounds like you. Your child's actual phrases are quoted verbatim — never paraphrased. The compile runs a fidelity check on every quoted span; anything that doesn't trace back to your reply triggers a regeneration. The closing paragraph is optionally yours to write directly.

What happens if I miss a month?

Nothing bad. The annual letter only includes the months you replied to. At month 6 you'll receive a halfway preview — the first six paragraphs in draft form — so you can see what the cadence is producing before the year is out.

What if I want to edit a paragraph before the final letter is sent?

You can. The archive page at yearletter.forage.bot/manage/{your-token} shows every reply you've submitted; you can edit any reply before the annual compile runs, and you can also edit any compiled paragraph in-place before delivery.

Can I add a second child?

Yes. Each child is a separate $36/year subscription with its own archive token, prompts, and annual artifact. Cancel either one independently at any month boundary.

Refunds?

If a monthly prompt fails to send, or the annual compile produces output that doesn't trace to your replies, the failure is verifiable in our logs and we refund. If you stop replying for several months and want out, the unused months are refunded — you keep only what we delivered. We don't offer a blanket time-window refund on years where the annual letter was actually compiled and delivered.
